Koihime Musou Girls and Famous Koreans, Part XI: Meng Huo and Maeng Hyung-kyu

Maeng Hyung-kyu (Hangul/Hanja: 맹형규/孟亨奎; Born August 9th 1946 in Seoul) is the Former Korean Minister of Security and Public Administration/MOSPA (April 15th 2010 - March 11th 2013). He is a member of Sinchang Maeng Clan (신창 맹씨/新昌孟氏) which is originated at Sinchang-myeon, Asan City, Southern Chungcheong Province.

Prior to the current position, he was 15th Assemblyman of Seoul Songpa-eul (Songpa-gu 2nd) electoral district, 16th and 17th Assemblyman of Seoul Songpa-gap (Songpa-gu 1st) electoral district in the National Assembly. 

He also held key positions of Special Assistant and Senior Secretary to the President for Political Affairs at the Office of the President, as well as Chairperson of the Committee on Commerce, Industry and Energy at the National Assembly. Before pursuing a career in politics, Maeng was Anchorman of SBS 8 News for the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS).
