The Center of Korea Observatory (Hanja: 國土正中央天文臺) is located in 127 Guktojeong-Jungangno, Dochon-ri 96-5 beonji, Nammyeon, Yanggu County, Gangwon Province. The observatory is named the Center of Korea, as it is located at the center of the Korean Peninsula in the 38th Northern Parallel.
It is equipped with an 80cm reflecting telescope. There is also an exhibition hall providing the most recent astronomy news, a planetarium showing the night sky, and a range of hands-on programs. Images of the earth and other astronomy-related photos and videos are shown every hour.
